Dental work and quiting smoking?

I am going though the long process of getting partials amongst other things. I have set my quit smoking date for the 22nd and I am growing more and more worried about not man able to curb the oral cravings. I can't chew at the moment. So gum, straws, carrots and stuff surrounded by that nature I can not have. What are some of the alternatives I can use to give pleasure to the cravings?
Answers:
I had Osseous surgery on 2 right quad's (Upper and lower) on Dec 26, 2008. I used to smoke 2 packs everyday (for 21 yrs!!). I quit and hold coffee when I have the cravings. It's almost going to be a month and I think I will quit. Try Coffee or sugar free gum. Trust me if you agree on to quit you will be able to.

You just have need of to have a strong desire to Quit and you will quit smoking. Good luck
