(For Braces) What's that telecommunication entry that go from one molar to the other over the roof of your mouth?

It's a single wire that goes from one molar to the other and stretches across the roof of my mouth. It's not that point that you use a key to turn, I already had that (I give attention to its called a trans palatal arch or something like that). Right immediately I have braces AND that wire, so i be wondering :

What does it do?

Do I get that thing sour before I get my actual braces bad or do I get them off at alike time?

Thank you!!
Answers:
it's an alternative to having to use headgear. it sort of anchors all your hardware. I forget the designation; ask your doc.
